Key Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Purchasing and Supplies or related course.
Minimum 5 years work experience especially in a busy procurement department in the Agriculture industry.
Proven procurement ability.
Ability to work with suppliers and build long term competitive supply relationships
Good organizational skills.
Ability to influence and communicate effectively.
Must be enthusiastic, energetic, personable and aggressive
Ability to work with minimum supervision and show mutual respect.
Good computer skills.
Ability to work under minimum supervision.
Position Objectives
Enforcement of regulations, systems and procedures; Initiation of procurement policy.
Ensuring the procurement of all goods; works and services associated with lodge activities in accordance with lodge’s procurement procedures ;
Reviewing procurement documents and participates in the evaluation process for suppliers, contractors and consultants for goods, works & services.
Ensuring that accurate procurement records are maintained, including all actions and documents for review by the institution's senior management.
Responsibility for returning goods to suppliers that are not as per the specification, or where items are delivered faulty in liaison with the Stores Manager
Ensuring that quotes are sourced efficiently and quickly.
Creating and maintaining a database on supplier’s performance in relation to quality and service.
Maintaining the database of Pre-Qualified suppliers
Ensuring that awarded suppliers meet agreed delivery time; that goods specifications are fully met and those goods are received in full by the stores team.
Source new good quality, value for money supplies.
Maintaining a contracts database, coordinating renewal and driving the procurement, drawing and reviewing of new contracts.
Ensure proper controls for supplied goods.
