Group Marketing Director - International Recruitment & Consulting Company Limited - Kenya - Nationwide

Purpose
To lead and facilitate the development and implementation of effective branding, marketing and customer service strategies; and activities aimed to meet customer needs, enhance the brand equity and maximise the revenue generation capacity of the group and support the company’s PAN African expansion.

Key Responsibilities
1. Define overall marketing direction and coordinate the formulation and implementation of the marketing strategy in line with the corporate strategy.
2. Oversee the development of the corporate communication and brand management strategy, policies and processes and guidelines.
3. Position the Company brand in local and International markets through Integrated marketing communications
4. Coordinate the development and implementation of propositions for specific branding activities and campaigns and action plans aimed at consolidating Company brand’s market share and enhancing brand value
5. Oversee the development of concepts for brand promotional materials and merchandising items.
6. Ensure Company’s brand visibility in all key markets and major outlets and channels.
7. Ensure compliance with corporate branding policies across the organisation.
8. Coordinate all internal, external and public corporate communications activities.
9. Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including media, public relations, branding agencies, etc.
10. Coordinate the development and implementation of effective media/public relations and crisis management policies and processes.
11. Oversee the planning and organization of corporate events and sponsorship activities
12. Ensure accuracy and consistency of all external communications.
13. Serve as a key interface between the Company and key stakeholders in local and international print and electronic media.
14. Ensure positive media coverage for the company and the development of effective strategies to manage/mitigate negative coverage.
15. Keep abreast of global and local best practice as it relates to corporate marketing, branding and customer care activities.
16. Oversee and champion the articulation and development of the department’s strategy and ensure alignment with corporate strategy, business goals and objectives.
17. Demonstrate ownership of and communicate the department’s strategic direction and objectives to all staff.
18. Oversee the day-to-day activities of the department and provide overall guidance, leadership support and strategic direction in the execution of the department’s functions.
19. Oversee the preparation of the department’s annual budget and monitor its implementation.
20. Review and authorize key expenditures/transactions of the department in line with approved financial authority limits.
21. Manage the human and material resources of the team to optimize performance and enhance output.
22. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements - Experience and Education
• First degree in Marketing, Business Administration or any related discipline.
• Post graduate degree (MBA) will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of ten (10 years) relevant experience, of which at least five must have been at a managerial level

Skills and Competencies
• In depth knowledge and appreciation of financial services & banking - key operations, products and services, trends, development, challenges and issues.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding marketing techniques and methodologies - advertising, brand management, market/sector targeting, customer cycle etc.
• Strong understanding of the dynamics of marketing models.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of market/customer segmentation, key account management, service delivery, retention concepts, principles and trends
• Strong knowledge of Financial and banking products and solutions
• Ability to think strategically and holistically, and to appreciate the impact of policies, changes and new technology issues and solutions.
• Excellent planning and organisation skills
• High sense of creativity and innovativeness.
• Political savvy, maturity, diplomacy and tact, including the ability to relate with different categories of people.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong public speaking, presentation and facilitation skills
