Vector Control / BASH Deputy Supervisor - Africa Management Solutions Limited - Afghanistan - Nationwide

Our client based in Austere remote area of Afghanistan wishes to recruit a Vector control/ BASH & Wildlife management team is responsible for the delivery of services to include, but not be limited to:

Responsibilities
Identify / search out nesting / breeding areas and habitat, behaviour, migration and to understand the life cycle of vertebrates and invertebrates.
Identify methods of prevent the entry of wildlife onto KAIA.
Identify the correct vector control measures.
Communicate with the authorities on all vector control matters.
Have regular meetings with the authorities on all vector control matters. Such meetings are to be minuted for future reference and will give continuity to this service.
Identify the most common pests.
Assist the authorities on vector control education.
Place all requirements for spares / consumables via the logistic / Procurement System, and account for all spares / consumables.
Ensure that critical spares / consumables are in stock at all times.
Ensure that all paperwork is updated and held on file for audit.
Ensure all stores / offices are secured at the end of day.
Ensuring best practices are carried out at all times.
Ensure all corporate and in-theatre policies are adhered to.
May be required to work an extended day due to rotational leave.
To be reactive to call outs and to have all correct documents regarding the call out signed off and filed.
To ensure that all documentation is completed and filed correctly.
All vector control consumables are stored correctly in accordance with the relevant COSHH regulations and MSDS information sheets.
All equipment that is used in support of vector control is stored correctly and maintained as per the manufactures instructions.
To hold a working stock of PPE used for vector control.
To control the booking in and booking out of all chemicals and consumables.
Ensure that all vector control personnel are in-date with all training as per the vector control training matrix.
Implement any new polices / procedures that are published by controlling authorities.
Monitor vector control policies and procedures and implement additional policies and procedures that would improve the service provided.
Keep updated with any new legislation / directives in regards to vector control.

Duties

The principal duties of the Vector Control/BASH Deputy Supervisor will be:

Bird Identification.
Routine wildlife monitoring.
Bird and wildlife dispersal.
To follow the BASH, vector control and wildlife management plan.
Habitat management.
Wildlife trapping.
Wildlife movement of access and egress points around KAIA.
Presentation of wildlife report at the monthly flight safety meetings.
Maintenance of all Health, Safety and Environment paperwork and all other paper work including but not limited to: - operating procedures, COSHH assessments, risk assessments, daily log, call out records, stores issue and stock records, equipment maintenance and planned maintenance schedules.
Mentoring/supervision of x2 LCH work force.
To respond to all call outs as requested.
Qualifications, skills, Knowledge and Experience.
To have a minimum of 2 years' experience in vector control, BASH & wildlife management on airfields.
Fluent in both spoken and written English.
Good communication skills.
Hold a current driving licence, with a least one year remaining before the expiry date and be capable of passing the airfield driving test.
Hold a current passport, with a least one year remaining before the expiry date.
Good work ethics to include, commitment, integrity and reliability.
Flexible in working hours.
Good team player.
Be able to work on own initiative.
Good computer skills, to include Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint.
Previous experience in working in an austere environment.
Previous experience of working with a multi-national work force.
Must be of good health and fitness to suit the demands of this post.
Previous experience in the use of airfield VHF radios and radio phraseology.
